City Airport Train (CAT)

Travel More Comfortably with the City Airport Train (CAT) by Bus

Comfortable, reliable, and flexible: While the main line remains closed through the end of October 2027, the City Airport Train (CAT) will operate as “CAT by bus,” providing a premium bus service between Wien Mitte and the airport. Passengers will continue to travel in comfort and speed as usual aboard high-quality Setra coaches provided by Blaguss Reisen GmbH. With up to 5 buses per hour in each direction (every 12 minutes from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and every 15 minutes at other times), the CAT by bus has even increased its frequency to offer maximum flexibility through shorter wait times.

Frequency of the CAT replacement buses:
• Every 15 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. from Wien Mitte and from 6:10 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. from the airport.
• Starting at 7:00 a.m., every 12 minutes (5 times per hour) until 7:00 p.m.
• Starting at 7:00 p.m., every 15 minutes again until midnight. The last bus departs from Wien Mitte at 11:15 p.m. and from the airport at 11:37 p.m.

Stops: In Wien Mitte, in front of Marxergasse 1b, just a few steps from the CAT lobby in The Mall. At the airport, the CAT buses park directly in front of Terminal 3; the nearest entrance/exit to/from the arrivals hall is the one between Burger King and Costa Coffee.
