The Upper Belvedere presents around 420 works of art on three floors, with a special focus on Viennese Modernism.

The palace was built at the beginning of the 18th century by Baroque architect Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy. The Upper Belvedere, completed in 1723, served representative purposes and later became one of the first public museums. The Austrian State Treaty was also signed here.

Sisi Museum

Empress Elisabeth, also known as “Sisi,” was one of the most important figures of the 19th century. Even years after her death, the story of the young empress continues to fascinate many people far beyond Austria, not least because of her tragic end.

The Sisi Museum is located in the Vienna Hofburg and provides a fascinating insight into the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. In the original imperial chambers, visitors can learn more about the private life of the popular monarch, her love of travel, her beauty rituals, and her tragic death. Numerous personal items, letters, and portraits paint a picture of a complex and contradictory woman beyond the myth. The museum is part of the extensive Hofburg complex and is one of Vienna's most visited attractions.

At a height of around 65 meters, it offers an impressive view of the city and the Prater. The nostalgic gondolas lend the ride a special charm and make the Ferris wheel a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.
